Spring Skiing: France Montagnes and Club Med want to restore its value

The Spring of Skiing will begin in April 2016

Rédigé par The editors translated by Joséphine Foucher le Mercredi 20 Janvier 2016

Henri Giscard d'Estaing and Jean-Marc Silva, the President of the Club Méditerranée and Director of France Montagnes, respectively, officially launched the “Spring of Skiing” operation in Val Thorens, last Wednesday. Joined by many ski station directors, they want to take advantage of the April school holidays being been moved one week earlier to enable various mountain resorts to attract skiers during this period through attractive offers.

Once very trendy, the end-of-winter snows are no longer popular, now in competition with the sun and attractive rates to far-away destinations.

This is to the great disadvantage of French mountains that “draw the blinds” every year even though the slopes still often carry over 80 cm of snow.

Launched in 2015 through the initiative of the Directors of Club Med and France Montagnes, this 2nd edition of the Spring of Skiing hopes to attract families by offering creative packages and unbeatable rates.

This year, the 30 partners associated to the operation could transform this test, especially thanks to the help of the Education Ministry that moved the Easter vacations up one week.

Furthermore, the French who are traumatized by the recent attacks may prefer to cocoon inside the country. Rather promising: reservations increased by 40 to 60% compared to last year.

The official website printempsduski.com explains how the benefit of long days enable to truly enjoy the wide range of activities offered even after you have taken off your skis.
