TUI France: the Siano trial in sine die? Hearing postponed for a year!

The trial is postponed to May 21, 2015

The hearing before the 15th Chamber of the Court of Bobigny, involving Jean-Marc Siano, former President of TUI France and Patrick Lebufnoir, former Financial Director has not lasted very long...

Jean-Marc Siano showed up. However, Patrick Lebufnoir chose not to appear at the hearing of the 15th Chamber of the Correctional Tribunal in Bobigny.

Both of them were called to testify on charges of "direct or associated concealment of the true financial situation" by Nouvelles Frontières, between July 2009 and March 2011.

It is true that the accounts of TUI denounced improbable inflow of around 36 million euros!

Also according to the indictment, Jean-Marc Siano would have, through this maneuver, received a bonus of some €460,000, while Patrick Lebufnoir would have been awarded only up to €360,000.

As we announced on Monday, Jean-Marc Siano’s lawyer asked to postpone the hearing to a later date, arguing that he could not fully establish the his client's defense. For example, some parts of the investigation, such as the "sealed" files would have been sent too late...

According to Jean-Marc Siano’s lawyer, Christophe Llorca, the bonuses his client has received have nothing to do with the financial position of the Group, but are normal practices done by a group to its representative…(sic)

On the side of TUI France and its current leadership, the news have not been appreciated, because the Tribunal has in fact allowed to push back the case to May 21, 2015. This gives an additional year of respite. Enough to fully study the files…if not completely memorize them.

Justice is slow ... but serene!
