On a global scale, Paris is the 9th favorite capital of tourists, according to a study conducted by Ipsos an Spella. The study was done by collecting data generated by 1.5 million travelers who wrote 3.7 million comments online, over five years.
The investigation looked at several criteria such as hotel offer, cultural offer, tourism attractions, transportation, or safety.
Paris ranks behind cities like Rome, Beijing, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Venice, Berlin, Singapore, and Sydney.
The French capital loses points because of hotel rates deemed too high by 62% of travelers. Also, 82% of travelers complain about the hospitality and reception quality for their room reservation.
Another problem felt in Paris: the deficit of transportation possibilities, especially to and from the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport. Finally, long lines for some touristic attractions along with safety were also seen as problematic.
However, Paris stands in first place for the cultural offer criterion, and 73% of tourists appreciate the geographic location of the city’s hotels.
