TourMaG.com - Which of your favorite hotel in the destination would you recommend to a family?

Christine Crispin: I would recommend our best sale, meaning the Coral Resort Bansaphan, that offers a club formula for families in full board including cooking classes, sauna, massage, excursions, etc.

TourMaG.com - For a couple?

Christine Crispin: For a couple on a honeymoon my “favorite” would be the Six Senses Koh Yao Noï, located on an island offshore of Phuket that blends luxury, charm, and intimacy.

TourMaG.com - What city must absolutely be visited?

Christine Crispin: The islands rather than a city must be visited in the summer, especially Koh Kradan, Koh Mook or even Koh Madsum that offer all the excitements of the sea, luxury, and intimacy.

TourMaG.com - What is the destination’s must-see monument?

Christine Crispin: The Bangkok’s Royal Palace will always blind tourists, but there is also Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the most beautiful temple of the city of Ayutthaya, also known as the former capital of the Siam Kingdom founded in the 15th century.

TourMaG.com - Where can we taste the best local specialty?

Christine Crispin: You can eat delicious grilled fish in Thailand’s beach restaurants. However, I would recommend having a mojito on the terrace of the Vertigo that sits on top of the Banyan Tree Bangkok bestowing the most beautiful view on the city by night.

TourMaG.com - A secret address to reveal?

Christine Crispin: The Anantara Elephant Camp in the Golden Triangle. It is a unique experience to live amidst elephants with Thai cooking classes as a bonus.

TourMaG.com - A nature spot worth exploring?

Christine Crispin: The Elephant Hills camping in luxury tents at the north of Thailand to experience ecotourism.

TourMaG.com - Any typical activity to experience?

Christine Crispin: A cruise onboard a luxury junk between Chao Phraya and Ayutthaya.

TourMaG.com - Which souvenir to bring home?

Christine Crispin: Wonderful orchid bouquets that will flourish for a long time in your home and stand as reminders of the marvelous trip you took.

TourMaG.com - Tell us a sentence to memorize before leaving?

Christine Crispin: “Be nice with the Thai because you’re in the country of smiles.”

TourMaG.com - Is there a custom/unique usage that we should be aware of?

Christine Crispin: Like in every Buddhist country in Asia, avoid caressing the head of a child as it will be misinterpreted by parents who regard the head as the soul’s haven.

Furthermore, do not try to shake a Thai person’s hand since they usually join their hands as a form of salute.
